Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan and the Okinawa Prefectural Government Singapore Representative Office are proud to present an engaging event which showcases the alluring appeal of Okinawa, featuring its famous alcohol, Awamori.

About the Event

© Okinawa Prefectural Government Singapore Representative Office

Awamori is a traditional alcoholic beverage indigenous to Okinawa Prefecture. It is one of Japan’s oldest distilled spirits and its creation predates even that of shochu.

Join us at Japan Creative Centre (JCC) to learn more about the allure and unique history Awamori through an informative talk by a Shochu and Awamori specialist from Mr Ono, Senior Advisor, Brewing Technology and International Information from Japan's National Tax Agency. Awamori meisters from Okinawa will also serve Awamori traditionally and demonstrate how it can be mixed into modern cocktails. There will also be booths sharing information on the beautiful tropical paradise of Okinawa, so be sure to register for this exclusive event with us!

Light refreshments featuring traditional Okinawan food such as rafute and jimami tofu from Nirai Kanai will also be served during the event.
