During the Edo Period of Japan, a talented cook Haru Funaki (Aya Ueto) marries the heir of a renowned family of famous chefs known as “kitchen samurai” that prepares food for the nobility.
However, her husband Yasunobu Funaki (Kengo Kora) can’t cook at all, and in order to save the family reputation, she was asked by her father-in-law Dennai Funaki (Toshiyuki Nishida) – who laid the foundations for Kaga clan cuisine – to teach him ways of the culinary arts.
