Film Synopsis

Fifteen year-old Kaori Isoyama (Riko Narumi) is an elite kendo fencer who has trained since age three under the strict guidance of her father. Obsessed with competitions and winning, Kaori is stunned when she loses a match to the nonchalant Sanae Nishiogi (Kie Kitano), and intent to settle the score and restore her pride next year when both girls will be attending the same high school.

Sanae, on the other hand, does kendo for fun and has all forgotten about the match. Nevertheless, both girls have reached a level of mutual respect as they begin to appreciate and yet get annoyed by one another’s opposing qualities. However, Kaori sprained her wrist during the preliminary match for interschool games, and is replaced by Sanae who is on the reserved list. Sanae eventually led the school to victory after making an incredible strike.

Despite praising Sanae for the strike, Kaori loses her motivation to fight and neglects trainings even after her wrist is healed. Sanae, who is now playing for the upcoming interschool games, has a responsibility to win the match and no longer able to play kendo like she used to. With both struggling to find an answer, Sanae delivers a letter of challenge to Kaori. Will Kaori show up for the final battle on the day of duel?
