JCC CINEMA MOVIE SCREENING & SHARING SESSION

The Japan Creative Centre invites you to join us at our JCC film screening and sharing session. As part of JCC's creative program, we will be screening exciting Japanese movies at the end of every month. The screening will then be followed by an informative sharing session where guest speakers will share their thoughts and insights on all things Japanese!

For our 15th session, we will be screening "Spirited Away", a Japanese movie directed by famous Japanese manga artist and prominent film director, Hayao Miyazaki. The story is about a 10-year old girl, Chihiro, who has to take on the job in Yubaba's bathhouse in order to save her parents, who have been turned into pigs!

For this month JCC Cinema, we would not be having any sharing session, however, we will be having an 'Obake Quiz'!

Synopsis of Film

Cast: Rumi Hiiragi, Miyu Irino and Mari Natsuki

On their way to their new home, a young girl, Chihiro, and her parents stumble into what appears to be an abandoned theme park. But all is not as it seems, as the theme park is a bath-house for the spirits, and not a place where humans are welcome. Chihiro must fend for herself and rescue her parents, as they have been turned to pigs as punishment for eating the food meant for the gods.

About Obake Quiz (Monster Quiz)
For this month JCC Cinema, we would not be having any guest speaker, however, we will be having an 'Obake Quiz'! In conjunction with the movie 'Spirited Away', we will be having a short quiz in relation to the movie and also the folklore that exist in Japanese, for guests to participate and take part in it. First 5 correct winners will win an exclusive prizes by Japan Creative Centre INSTANTLY.
