The Japan Creative Centre invites you to join us at our JCC film screening and creative session. As part of JCC's creative program, we will be screening exciting Japanese movies at the end of every month. The screening will then be followed by an informative sharing session where guest speakers will share their thoughts and insights on all things Japan!

For our seventh session, we will be screening "Happy Flight", the 2008 Japan box office comedy hit about preparing a flight to Hawaii for a timely and safe departure as the crew overcomes technical difficulties and other comedic in-flight mishaps. The screening will be followed by a sharing session by Ms Hitomi Ishino and Ms Angelia Chong from ANA who will shed insight on the day-to-day operations of ANA. For those who have been curious about the workings of a Japanese airliner, don't miss this opportunity to meet the ANA officers!

"Happy Flight" is about Kazuhiro Suzuki (Seiichi Tanabe), a copilot who is trying to qualify as a pilot, and Etsuko Saitō (Haruka Ayase), a young flight attendant going on her first international flight, who service an All Nippon Airways 747-400 as Flight 1980 to Honolulu, Hawaii. The story also tells the story of Natsumi Kimura (Tomoko Tabata), a ground staffer who deals with issues regarding the flight.

After experiencing a difficult take-off, the flight crew and ground controllers have to work together in bringing the plane back home, winning the cooperation of a "difficult" passenger, flying around adverse weather, and determining if the maintenance crew was at fault for the aircraft's failure.
