The Japan Creative Centre invites you to join us at our JCC film screening and creative session. As part of JCC's creative program, we will be screening exciting Japanese movies at the end of every month. The screening will then be followed by an informative sharing session where guest speakers will share their thoughts and insights on all things Japan!
For our third session, we will be screening "Gundam "Kido Senshi Gundam", the first Gundam movie ever made followed by a talk by Mr Tan Yueh Han (Takahan) and Ms Stephanie Loh from Singapore Cosplay Club! Do join us for this screening of a classic in the Gundam anime series!
Synopsis of Film
Year is Universal Century 0079 and civil war has broken out between the Earth Federation Forces and the Principality of Zeon. With the tide of war turning against Earth Federation Forces who are no match for Zeon's advanced Zaku mobile suits, the Federation has one last card up its sleeves, new prototype mobile suits based at space colony Green Noah at side 7.
However Zeon forces hearing wind of the prototype suits launch a surprise attack against the colony in an attempt to capture or destroy the suits. In the heat of the battle, an unlikely hero emerges in fifteen year old Amuro Ray who accidentally launches into the heat of the battle in one of the prototypes code named Gundam. Will our young hero prevail? Watch to find out!
About the Speakers
Mr Tan Yueh Han (Takahan) is an avid fan of Gundam and produces many anime and toy events. He is the producer of the Cosfest, World Cosplay Summit and Asia Cosplay Meet. He will share his passion and views on why Gundam is very popular in Singapore and what makes it so different from other Anime.
Ms Stephanie Loh is the President of the Singapore Cosplay Club and is an Assistant producer of World Cosplay Summit Singapore. She will offer her insight on cosplay and cosplayers in Singapore and will share some examples of Gundam cosplays and how it is reproduced.
