© Mr Yosuke Irie

Mr Yosuke Irie is a Shaku Hachi (Flute) artist who was born in Osaka Japan in 1984. In 2007, Mr Irie graduated from the Toho Gakuen College of Music and Drama majoring in Japanese Music. After graduating he started to work as a musician and a Shakuhachi Teacher in Own Classroom Tokyo. He has received many awards over the years. The most prominent one was the Award from the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka, Testimonial letter from Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco (USA) and the President of Tahiti (USA/Tahiti). He won the 1st Prize and Gold prize in Traditional Japanese Music Competition, Solo Section, National Japanese Music Ensemble Association (Japan).

He gained official recognition from the Japanese Music Audition of Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) in 2009. He obtained his Shihan (Shaku Hachi Master's Licence) from the Association of Tozan-Ryu Shakuhachi School in 2013. He has performed in many countries like USA,UK and Rome.

Ms Kaho Irie, mother of Mr Yosuke Irie, is a Koto Grandmaster from the School of Ikuta and she has performed in many events while training the young players.
