The opening ceremony of Musings on Mid-Autumn: Compositions in Words & Blooms, an exhibition by Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135, was held at Japan Creative Centre (JCC) on Wednesday, 11 September 2019.
JCC Director Ms. Akiko Sugita commenced the opening by giving a welcoming speech, followed by the Chapter’s President Ms. Anju Bhardwaj’s opening address. Mr. Takahiro Mori, Bonsai Master and Japan Cultural Envoy appointed by the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan, was also invited to give a brief introduction on Bonsai practice and cultivation, and the opening ceremony ended with a floral demonstration by Ms. Jane Tan of the Ikenobo School.

The exhibition was held at JCC from 12 to 14 September, showcasing a total of about 20 floral arrangements, which was complemented by haiku on the coming of autumn through the beauty and soft colours of the natural landscape.
