Washi Kurumi Doll Workshop by Masako Soeda @ RSVP Singapore

Japanese paper doll artist Mrs Masako Soeda was invited to conduct an exclusive session of Washi Kurumi Doll Workshop organised by RSVP Singapore for senior citizens and corporate clients as part of their effect to promote active ageing.

They were taught how to make the traditional Japanese washi doll frame that are used for home decoration, and also learnt about history and making process of Mino washi – a type of traditional Japanese paper from Gifu prefecture with about 1,300 years of history and has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
