Japanese paper doll artist Mrs Masako Soeda was invited to conduct two Washi Bookmark workshops organised by the Mandarin Gallery for a total of 40 members of the public. Besides learning about basic differences between washi and normal paper, the participants were also introduced to Gifu, home to the finest washi known as Mino Washi.

Mrs Soeda exhibited in Singapore for the first time from 1st September to 15 September 2018 and has over 40 years of experience in making washi paper dolls as well as conducting workshops in Japan to preserve the art of making paper dolls.
