Origami Jewellery Workshop by Tan Shu Ying @ Mandarin Gallery

Singapore-based Origami Artist Ms Tan Shu Ying (of Sylph) held two workshops at Mandarin Gallery on Saturday, 22 September 2018 teaching participants how to make origami jewelry. A total of 40 participants attended the workshop and were able to learn how to fold, and transform origami into beautiful and durable earrings for everyday use.

The activity was an enjoyable challenge as participants first had to fold origami cranes on pieces of Japanese washi paper that were very much smaller than what is usually used to fold origami. After setting the origami cranes, the participants also learnt how to attach them to gold jewelry attachments to create a pair of delicate and elegant earrings.
