Sembawang GRC One Community Fiesta 2016

With an aim to enhance social cohesion between Singaporeans, New Citizens and Permanent Residents, the Sembawang GRC Integration and Naturalisation Champions (INCs) held an event, “One Community Fiesta” on Sunday, 4th September 2016.

We were extremely delighted to be asked to participate and enlighten the crowd with traditional Japanese art. Our JCC Director Ms Misako Ito amazed audiences with her Japanese calligraphy skills and those who asked, got their names written specially by her in Japanese. Our other JCC staff taught Origami (a Japanese art of paper folding) to many children who stopped by, curious about the colourful paper figures that were on display.

The event was also attended by H.E. Ambassador Kenji Shinoda, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Transport, and Adviser to Sembawang GRC GRO's and other Sembawang GRC advisors, Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Ong Ye Kung, Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) & Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Mr Vikram Nair, Member of Parliament.
