We had a total of more than 500 audiences for our JCC Cinema Weekend Marathon 13 and 14 October (Saturday and Sunday) at JAPAN RAIL CAFE!
Makoto Shinkai’s Anime Marathon was the theme for the first night, where audiences were able to see the development of Makoto Shinkai over the years through 3 of his works – 5 Centimeters Per Second, Voices of a Distant Star and The Garden of Words. We had a weekend special for the second night, featuring well-known cartoon Chibi Maruko chan, as well as Robo-G which was directed by Yaguchi Shinobu.

It was held as part of JAPAN RAIL CAFE’s Autumn in the Train on 11 to 14 October 2018, a train-themed event in light of Tetsudou-no-hi (Japan Railroad Day) where people could experience “Autumn in the Train” with exclusive Japanese food, activities and special merchandise relating to Autumn and rail, all in a train-like space.
