On 9 April 2019, JCC hosted a talk event by KOSÉ Corporation about the use of kojic acid in skin whitening cosmetics. The talk event began with an introduction by Ms Brenda Goh, Marketing Manager at KOSÉ Singapore Pte Ltd to common skin problems that most people may begin to experience as they age.

Following which, Mr Ken Inomata, Senior Researcher at KOSÉ Corporation’s Dermatology and Cosmeceutical Research Laboratories, shared with the participants information on how skin pigmentation occurs and also on how kojic acid in skincare products can help to allay these problems. Mr Inomata conducted an experiment with mushrooms to illustrate the beneficial effects of KOSÉ’s whitening cosmetics.

As kojic acid can be found in sake, Ms Maria Luisa Satoh, a Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at Orihara Pte Ltd, also explained to the audience how kojic acid is produced in sake. They also brought sake from Akita Prefecture for the audience to taste.
The participants had many questions about KOSÉ as well as the effects of their whitening products. There was lively discussion during the Q&A session, and during the mingling session afterwards as they could try out selected KOSÉ products and taste sake.
