Shogi Workshop ~ Commemorating the SJ60 Eiou Championship Singapore Match ~

Introduction to shogi by professional shogi players Mr Sasaki Makoto and Mr Takami Taichi, with English interpretation by Mr Abe Keiichi, Representative of Shogi Club, Japanese Association, Singapore
JCC once again held shogi workshops for beginners and experienced shogi players, this time under the guidance of professional shogi players Mr Sasaki Makoto and Mr Takami Taichi, both ranked 7-dan. Co-organised with Japan Shogi Association, the full house event on 7 February began with an introduction to shogi, as well as the upcoming SJ60 Eiou Championship Singapore Match, scheduled for 3 April.

It was an exciting afternoon, as those who were new to shogi were able to practice their hand in a collective match and solving problem scenarios together. Meanwhile, experienced participants had the rare opportunity to play against Mr Sasaki and Mr Takami, who also provided valuable insights about each match outcome.

Please stay tuned to our JCC website and social media for more information about the SJ60 Eiou Championship Singapore Match and other shogi-related events!
