JCC Cinema 96 x Japanese Film Festival featured the adventure fantasy The Imaginary (PG) at SFS Somerset, housed in Cineleisure close to the Orchard area on 28 February.

Prior to the screening, we had the privilege of a special presentation by Mr Chang Sieh Yong, Principal of the Japanese Cultural Society (JCS) Japanese Language school. He introduced the opportunities of learning Japanese and his own experience of how studying Japanese opened a new world around him and deeply affected his life.

This was the second time for our JCC Cinema to collaborate with both the Japan Foundation and Singapore Film Society to bring back one of the films from our previous JFF programme onto the big screen due to popular demand. The joint event again also featured Japanese Language learning books from both the JCS and the Japan Foundation. Many audience members browsed through the books, and some were even motivated to tackle the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
