JCC and the University of Tsukuba co-hosted the International Joint Seminar for Smart Wellness City on 20 February. With the aim of encouraging dialogue between academics, businesses, and institutions in Singapore and Japan who are engaged in the fields of health, wellness, sports, and active aging.
As both Singapore and Japan embrace their aging population, more initiatives are being taken to promote active ageing of their citizens – be it through city planning, government policies or even grassroots initiatives.
The seminar, organised as part of the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Programme of the Japanese Cabinet Office, was attended by representatives from government agencies, institutions, organisations, and private companies from both countries and had a line-up of reputable specialists to share and discuss strategies and measures for nurturing a ‘Smart Wellness City’.
The seminar helped to enhance communications and exchanges between the participants from Singapore and Japan, opening new doors for potential collaborations in health and wellness in the future.
