During the screening.
On 26 February 2018, JCC welcomed a full house of audience members who came to see the documentary “I Want To Go Home”. This documentary is part of multi-disciplinary project in which Singaporean filmmaker Wesley Leon Aroozoo directed this documentary, and wrote a novel on the story of Mr Yasuo Takamatsu, who lost his wife to the tsunami during the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Before the screening, Mr Aroozoo gave a brief introduction of how he started the project, and spoke about how he set out to connect with and speak to Mr Takamatsu despite not knowing any Japanese. The documentary further explains Mr Takamatsu’s story, his dedication, and his determination to keep diving into the sea to find his wife. It was a moving documentary that shared with audiences a man’s journey to overcoming loss, and his devotion to reunite with a loved one.
