Photography as Art - Seeking Living Absence, an exhibition by Ms Mayumi Terada was officially opened on Friday, 8 June 2018 at Japan Creative Centre (JCC) by JCC Director Ms Akiko Sugita. Based on the theme of “Absence”, each photograph features models of miniature rooms made by Ms Terada herself. This exhibition was also curated with the help of three students from Lasalle College of the Arts, Ms Odelia Yen, Ms Lin Meng Ju, and Mr Ivan Ong.

The opening ceremony began with a speech by JCC Director Ms Akiko Sugita. Coincidentally, Ms Sugita and Ms Terada used to be classmates in high school. She shared with the guests how wonderful it was to have their lives intertwine again in Singapore, far from where they first met in adolescence.
