Workshop: "Sounds. Warning. System."

During the introduction
As part of the exhibition “Open Possibilities: There is not only one neat way to imagine our futures,” an outreach programme was held at The Substation on Thursday, 12 December 2019. Artist Lintang Radittya (Indonesia), with the help of local art collective INTER–MISSION, led a workshop “Sounds. Warning. System.” during which participants learnt about the kentongan, and its functions as both a disaster mitigation tool and art medium.

Participants then learnt how to make their own kentongan instruments using various materials. At the end of the workshop, they performed as an ensemble and made recordings of their instruments.
