As part of the exhibition “Open Possibilities: There is not only one neat way to imagine our futures,” two artist talks were held at JCC respectively on Saturday, 7 December 2019 and Friday, 13 December 2019. During the first talk titled "Exposing the Limit: On Futures, Media Art, and Technology", exhibition curator Yasuko Yubisui as well as artists Etsuko Ichihara (Japan), INTER-MISSION (Singapore), Waft Lab (Indonesia), and yang02 (Japan) briefly explained about each artwork and spoke in detail about how they challenge the limits of contemporary technology, while exploring the possibility of reimagining technology through artistic practice. This sparked further discussion among the audience, making it an engaging and thought-provoking session.

The second talk, titled “On Surroundings: Reconfiguring the modes of communication with nature” was moderated by curator Riar Rizaldi and featured artists Rei Hayama (Japan), Lintang Radittya (Indonesia), and Zai Tang (Singapore). Zai Tang is exhibiting his work at the Tokyo edition of the exhibition, and Lintang Radittya, although not displaying any artwork at the exhibition, is conducting workshops in both Singapore and Japan. The artists talked about their works and engaged in a discussion on how art, technology, and nature is connected.
