Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu! Happy New Year!
After a very eventful year, 2018 has finally come to an end! This past December saw festive and fun-filled events at JCC, which helped to draw a fitting close to the year. Guests enjoyed a Christmas-themed ikebana workshop, and a collaboration between JCC Cinema and Akita Inu Tourism introduced many to the beautiful and wintry scenery of Akita Prefecture. I would like to thank every one of our Friends of JCC for their continuous strong support of our events. Seeing everyone participate enthusiastically is really heartening; it encourages us to organise more innovate events that many more of you can participate in. I look forward to welcoming more of you to visit JCC! 2019 is a special year as JCC will be commemorating its 10th Anniversary! Preparations are already well underway for the plethora of events that we will be presenting both at JCC and at various locations around the island. We will be kick-starting the celebrations with the Japanese Film Festival 2019 (JFF 2019), for which we have partnered with the Singapore Film Society and Japan Foundation. Following that exciting beginning, there will also be thought-provoking exhibitions, innovative visual arts events, as well as traditional Japanese theatre to continue the hearty celebrations of the year. To keep up to date with the events that JCC will be presenting throughout the year, please do become a Friend of JCC, and follow us on our Facebook page and our website. We hope to welcome many more Friends of JCC participating in our events and celebrating with us. I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year, and I hope to see you all soon at JCC!
