MA in Art

During the artist talk which took place on 27th January 2018 at JCC (Japan Creative Centre), Ms Sachiyo Sharma introduced the Japanese concept of MA, particularly in the context of Japanese art and physics. After guests had a better understanding of MA, both artists, Ms Sachiyo Sharma and Ms Sunaina Bhalla, proceeded to give a guided tour of the exhibition, which is based on the same concept. |
| The two artists shared how they were inspired by MA, and how they interpreted the same concept in different ways, as reflected in their works. For example, Ms Sachiyo Sharma expressed the flow of time in her detailed, hand spun textile creations, while Ms Sunaina Bhalla conveyed the repetitive interval between pain and relief in her installations which utilised multiple materials.
