During the screening of Komaneko. |
|
For the entire week from 15 January 2018 to 19 January 2018, JCC screened Komaneko at Temasek Polytechnic as part of our JCC Cinema series in schools. These movie screenings were a treat for the students studying Japanese at Temasek Polytechnic. The students’ lecturers interspersed each short film in the Komaneko series with explanations of the film’s director Tsuneo Goda, and the process of stop motion animation. Students were also encouraged to think about how the film relates to Japan and Japanese culture, despite the film not having any dialogue.
We look forward to engaging in more collaborations during which we can reach out to more young Singaporeans about Japanese film and culture!
