Simultaneously, as JCC held a ‘Naoki Takenouchi: Light & Shadow of Woodcut Print Exhibition’ during the student’s career experience, they had the opportunity to meet the artist himself. In addition to that, both students learned the ropes around the centre such as acquiring skills from welcoming visitors, responding to enquiries over the phone as well as assisting the centre with sorting Japanese Manga’s at the e-library.
Visiting the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, the students were greeted by Mr Noda from the Consular Section. Explaining the consular’s role, the students were deeply appreciative of the efforts of the Embassy. Quoting from a letter they wrote to the Embassy, “Thank you for all the attention and care given during the two days of my work experience. Thank you for making it a memorable one.” As much as the students enjoyed their experience here at JCC as well as the Embassy, we applaud them for their valiant effort and hope the best for their future endeavours. |
