The recital performance of Bridges in Music: Connecting Young Musicians from Japan and Singapore was held at JCC on Saturday, 29 November 2025. This event served as a prelude to the Japan–Singapore Youth International Music Exchange Programme, which is scheduled to take place next year in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries (SJ60).

Audiences were treated to an enchanting musical evening featuring the renowned conductor and cellist Mr Yamamoto Yunosuke and pianist Ms Koyama Kyoko, who came specially from Japan for the occasion. They performed alongside Singaporean violinist Mr Gabriel Lee and two young Singaporean musicians, Ms Alyssa Tan and Mr Aaron Tan, who were selected during the open rehearsal. The event showcased a diverse range of music, from classical pieces such as Salut d’Amour, Op. 12 and The Swan from Carnival of the Animals, to modern works including the beloved anime song Carrying You from Castle in the Sky and the iconic Singapore National Day song, Home.

This pre-event spread across 27, 28 and 29 November 2025 at JCC and Yamaha Clementi Auditorium, and both open rehearsals and workshops offered young musicians and attendees a rich and meaningful musical experience.
