Japanese Rice: The Journey of Flavours and History ~ Showcasing the different varieties of Japanese rice ~

Japanese Rice: The Journey of Flavours and History was held successfully on Saturday, 19 November 2022. Conducted in 7 different sessions, closed to 200 participants came to JCC for the event, where they first learnt about the history and knowledge about Japanese rice from Rice Meisters Mr Shinichi Katayama and Ms Marie Akizawa, followed by a tasting session showcasing the different varieties of Japanese rice from Hokkaido, Akita, Tochigi, Nagano and Kochi prefectures. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to try out Chicken Rice – a local Singaporean dish that was prepared using Japanese rice, Bamboo Shoot Rice using Japanese rice, as well as Kikkoman Yosenabe Sauce.
