Konnichiwa!
November is the peak season of autumn, and said to be suitable for many activities such as sports, art, food and more. Last month, JCC held a myriad of one-day events that highlighted such activities too.
JCC held an event that showcased Japanese rice, and we were delighted that it was met with overwhelming success! Besides introducing seven different varieties of rice from Hokkaido, Akita, Tochigi, Nagano and Kochi prefectures, participants also had the rare opportunity to taste and compare them both in their original flavours as well as in Singapore cuisines. It was wonderful to see so many people learning to taste the difference between each variety, and even asking many in-depth questions to both Japanese rice meisters!
There was also an educational talk held both physically and online by Alberix Niigata FC (Singapore), specifically by Head Coach Mr Kazuaki Yoshinaga and key player Mr Tadanari Lee. It was an enlightening session as perspectives from both sides were presented about nurturing young talents and team spirit, as well as developing a career in soccer.
In December, we are excited to bring back the second edition of an art exhibition co-organised with The Japanese School, Singapore. This time, rather than just featuring individual artworks, it will feature collaborative artworks by students from both Japan and Singapore. So do drop by JCC to see how creative the students can get!
