The JET Programme was started in 1987 to promote grassroots exchanges between Japan and other countries in the world. It aims to enhance foreign language education and promote international exchange at the local level in Japan, through the fostering of ties between Japanese and foreign youths. The first JET participant from Singapore was in 1999.

Singaporean participants including the recent returnees have been received warmly over the years. We hope this year’s participants will have a fulfilling and wonderful JET experience!
