The opening reception of Singaporean Master Potter Dr Iskandar Jalil’s solo exhibition, entitled ‘Dr Iskandar Jalil: Paradox’, was held at JCC (Japan Creative Centre) on Friday, 2 November 2018. H.E. Jun Yamazaki, Ambassador of Japan, and Mrs Junko Yamazaki attended the event as hosts, while Ms Jane Ittogi, Former Chair of Singapore Art Museum, graced the reception as the Guest-of-Honour. Over 100 guests, including family and friends of Dr Iskandar Jalil, attended the reception to celebrate the opening of the Master Potter’s exhibition.

This exhibition, which runs till 30 November 2018, is held in conjunction with the 33rd ASEAN Summit 2018 and to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Japan-ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation. Showcasing over 65 ceramic art works, and many of which were specially produced for this exhibition, Dr Iskandar Jalil’s exhibition features signature vessels that the Master Potter is celebrated for, as well as his recent sculptural qualities and dynamic combinations of ceramic techniques, glazes, and functionality.
