Artist Tetsuro Kano speaking about his works. |

Artists Adeline Kueh and Tetsuro Kano gave a guided tour of their exhibition ‘A bird in the garden, a cat in the room’ on 11th November 2017. Both artists spoke about the catalysts that inspired their pieces, and also about the art creation process. Despite having installations that are rather different, they spoke about the similarities in sensibilities they had – such as material and colour choices.
|
Adeline Kueh also shared about how she has learnt about the Japanese art of kintsugi (when broken pottery is repaired with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum) from Tetsuro Kano, and even incorporated kintsugi techniques into one of the installations presented at JCC. Curator Ms Tomomi Nitta concluded the guided tour with a speech, after which, guests had time to speak to the artists.
