Season’s Greetings!
We are now fast approaching the end of a very thrilling 2017.
Our exciting event calendar, which ran the gamut from calligraphy exhibitions, to lectures on new Japanese technology, and collaborations with several Japanese prefectures. We are also happy to note that we were able to break our visitorship record in October this year! It is heartening to see so many people coming to JCC and taking part in our events due to a shared interest in Japan. We are certainly motivated to continue bringing valuable aspects of Japan to Singapore, so please do look forward to the programmes that we will organise next year.
Likewise, November has been a fulfilling month that saw us hold outreach programmes both at our centre and at community clubs around Singapore. JCC took part in the One Community Fiesta at West Coast Community Centre (WCCC), a lively event which His Excellency Ambassador Kenji Shinoda also attended and enjoyed with MPs from West Coast GRC and Pioneer Constituency. The opening of The Circle of Life輪廻, a collaborative silkscreen print and ceramic art exhibition by Singaporean artist Justin Lee and Japanese artist Takanao Todo was held and also allowed JCC to host silkscreen printing and paper sculpting workshops led by the artists themselves.
Our December programmes will wrap up JCC activities on a warm and wonderful note as we learn how this wintry season is expressed through floral arrangements by Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135 at their Christmas workshop. If you are interested, please do follow us on our website and Facebook page for more information on our activities at JCC. We look forward to greeting you with many more compelling events in the new year.
See you soon!
