Konnichiwa!

After much fulfilled two and half years of work and stay in Singapore, the time has come for me to say farewell to you all.

My mission here is about to complete with the end of 2016 is approaching. Throughout this year of "SJ50", with its preparation period since my arrival in mid 2014, I have thoroughly enjoyed working here at JCC.

Now we count as many as over 200 individual SJ50 registered events with us, and as we saw the great success of SJ50 Matsuri & Parade at the end of October, I will go back to Tokyo happily. My overseas assignment was extended for 10 years now from my days in Washington DC, Los Angeles and then here, in Singapore. I was fortunate enough to stay involved in the areas of arts and culture, educational outreach and people-to-people exchanges wherever I was, heading the cultural and information centres as director in the respective locations.

In particular, here in Singapore, I sincerely appreciate all your interests, understanding and affection extended to our culture and our land full of nature. Please keep supporting JCC and its activities, and I am sure our colleague will try their best to accommodate to your queries and curiosity. I am also confident that our two nation's friendship and interchanges will further develop to kick-start the first year towards SJ100.

With all my heart, wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

See you soon!
