The Orientation & Farewell Reception for the 2025 JET Programme participants from Singapore was held on 14 July 2025 at Japan Creative Centre. The JET Programme – one of the world’s largest international people-to-people exchange programme that was started in 1987 – aims to promote grassroots exchanges between Japan and other countries by deepening mutual understanding, enhance foreign language education, and develop international exchange at the local level in Japan.
A total of 17 Singaporeans will be joining the programme for this year, and many of them have expressed their excitement towards going to Japan, their passion about Japanese culture, and their plans during their stay in Japan. They also had fruitful interactions with organisations including JET Alumni Association Singapore members, representatives from J.CLAIR Singapore and related prefectures, the Japanese School Singapore, the Japanese Association Singapore, SSEAYP International Singapore, and National University of Singapore. We hope that all of them will have a memorable and fruitful experience in Japan!
