Pre-Departure Orientation for 2019 JET Programme participants

During the briefing
36 selected Singaporean participants at the upcoming Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme visited JCC for their pre-departure orientation on Wednesday, 10 July. They were greeted by Mr Kazunori Amari, Executive Director of CLAIR Singapore, and Ms Chihiro Ono, the Second Secretary from the Embassy of Japan who briefed them on general information about the programme, as well as details on their departure and stay in Japan. After which, Ms Cheryl Phua, Ms Mok Wan Kay and Mr Dennis Ong from JET Alumni Association in Singapore (JETAA) welcomed the new JETs and shared their experiences staying and working in Japan under the programme.

The JET Programme is one of the largest exchange programmes in the world that aims to promote grass-roots international exchange between Japan and the other nations. JET Programme will have 27 Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and 9 Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) from Singapore this year.
