Guests were spirited away to the enchanting world of Studio Ghibli on 20 March, during the exclusive event “Conversation with Kazuki Anzai”, organised by Japan Creative Centre and Mizuho Bank Singapore. As the Managing Director of Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, a suburb town of Tokyo, Ms Anzai shared her fascinating experience of how she came to take on her current position, as well as the unique journey of transforming Mr Miyazaki Hayao’s ideas on paper to the building design and exhibits of Ghibli Museum. She also shared that the Museum is committed to sustainability and coexisting harmoniously with the local community, given that the museum receives many visitors each day.
There was an engaging Q&A session, as well as a fun quiz where a few lucky audience members won Ghibli movie posters. During the cocktail reception that followed, guests also enjoyed cute Ghibli-themed cupcakes and other light refreshments. We hope that everyone who joined the event will further appreciate the magic behind Ghibli’s world, and will visit Ghibli Museum during their next trip to Japan! It is easily accessible by 20-minute train ride and 15-minute walk from Shinjuku area.
