Japanese scents workshop led by Ms Kaori Motomiya, Chairman and Representative Director of i-D international Inc. and KAORI.essence.japan LLC.
An exclusive 1 day event, Japanese Arts & Crafts: Tradition & Innovation ~ Factorism ~, was held at JCC (Japan Creative Centre) on 17 March 2023 in collaboration with Arts & Crafts Studio (SG) Pte. Ltd. Mr Toru Furugori, JCC Director, Ms Junko Gennami, Director of Arts & Crafts Studio, and Mr Shinichi Yamada, President of Pride Tsubamesanjo Project, were present to welcome guests at the opening reception. In addition, Mr Hideyo Hanazumi, Governor of Niigata Prefecture, gave his congratulatory remarks in a video message, and Mr Chen Guanyou, Deputy Director, Strategy, Governance and International Relations, DesignSingapore Council, specially gave a speech too.

This was followed by an informative talk about the possibility of titanium technology by Mr Takuji Horie, Chairman and CEO of HORIE Co., and Mr Shinji Kasahara, President of TSUBOE Co., and Ms Kaoru Kuriyama, Designer, who shared about the design and brand building process of their grater products. Guests also enjoyed Niigata sake, as well as delicious sushi from Tomi Sushi, which used Niigata rice.

A wide range of products was exhibited, particularly featuring the wonderful metalworking products of Niigata Tsubame-Sanjo. Japanese paper incense from Awaji Island and indigo-dyed products from Hanyu in Saitama Prefecture were also present.

In addition to that, there were two workshop sessions where participants enthusiastically learnt about blending Japanese and Westerns scents, while appreciating fragrance using various scents. Ms Kaori Motomiya, Chairman and Representative Director of i-D international Inc. and KAORI.essence.japan LLC, introduced the history of fragrances and guided participants in making a unique roll-on version with their own distinctive fragrance oil.
