Our JCC Cinema 71: Mary and the Witch’s Flower was screened at Woodlands Regional Library’s Auditorium last Saturday, 16 March with a good crowd of audience. We welcomed many parents bringing their children, as it was the first day of a school holiday! This is also our second collaboration with the library.
|
The event was introduced by Mr. Xavier Lim from the Library. He also touched on collaborative effort by the library, where he made a special corner of books and videos related to Japan that were available for loan, including the novel of the movie.
Based on the novel by Mary Stewart, Mary and the Witch's Flower is the first feature film directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi under Studio Ponoc, after he made his last film When Marnie Was There at Studio Ghibli, which was also screened by us at Woodlands Regional Library last June.
