Polkaros Hinamatsuri Exhibition was opened with a talk event by the artist, Ms Ros Lee at JCC (Japan Creative Centre) on Saturday, 3 March 2018, with a full house of nearly 80 guests! Held in collaboration with Japanese University Graduate Association of Singapore (JUGAS) and also a satellite programme of the Singapore Design Week 2018, the exhibition features the latest collection of art and design works inspired by Japanese traditional festival ‘Hinamatsuri’ (also known as ‘Doll’s Day’ or ‘Girl’s Day in Japan) by the artist.

A Singapore-born lifestyle product designer and artist, Ms Ros Lee shared about her creative journey starting from how her love towards ceramics and pottery was influenced by her family, to studying and working in Japan for more than 10 years where she learnt about and began making textiles and designing modern “zakka” (everyday lifestyle) goods, and finally coming back to Singapore and starting Polkaros by creating her own art and design. She also shared about some of the collaborations, lectures and workshops she has done for the past few years.
