Japan Creative Centre (JCC) and the Japan Foundation are pleased to host Mr Nagasaki Iwao, a specialist in Japanese textiles and costume, for a talk at JCC. He will speak about the iconic Japanese garments - the Kimono and the Yukata.

Explore the evolution of the Kimono, Japan's traditional garment, and gain a deeper understanding of the meaning behind the term. Follow through the changes in its form, colours and patterns over time.

In addition, you will also discover the historical development of the Yukata, a type of summer clothing that is more commonly worn in Japan for its casual style and ease of wearing.

This event is part of the official celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan (SJ60).
