Japan Creative Centre (JCC), The Japan Foundation, and the Singapore Film Society are bringing back Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom (PG13), a popular anime film that was screened at the Japanese Film Festival Singapore in 2023.

The Toy Photography Club, a National Library Board Arts Learning Community, will also be putting up a special mini exhibition featuring iconic Japanese anime characters. Learn more about the Japanese language learning books collection at the library too!


FILM SYNOPSIS



Glistening with gold and water beneath the same sun, Alhamit and Baikari are two warring kingdoms that have come to a diplomatic agreement: Alhamit will gift their most beautiful woman and Baikari their cleverest man, to wed the nations into peace.

Yet, they are too stubborn to even honour such a simple deal, and trouble sparks when a dog and cat arrive in place of the promised bride and groom! In a strange twist of fate however, Princess Sarah of Alhamit and Naranbayar of Baikari meet in the forest by chance, without realising who the other is...

JAPANESE LANGUAGE LEARNING BOOKS AT WOODLANDS REGIONAL LIBRARY

Do you know that the National Library Board (NLB) has a wide range of Japanese language learning books available for library members?

Woodlands Regional Library will be setting up a special display, showcasing some of the collection they have at the B1 Auditorium from 2pm. The books can be borrowed using the NLB Mobile app!

Nearest MRT is Woodlands (NS9) and (TE2). The auditorium is at the basement beside library's entrance.



Admission:
All seats are free seating. Registration will start 30 minutes before the screening. Kindly be informed that reserved seats will be given to walk-ins and standees 5 minutes before the starting time.
